I’m Andrea – almost 30 years old (you’re lucky I admitted that) and living a life full of so many passions. My first and favorite passion is my family. I’m married to my long time best friend (I’m talking 8th grade), turned boyfriend at some point, turned husband, and now the most AMAZING dad. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me! We got married in 2015 which also happens to be the year our son was born! My little girl came 3.5 years later and she has been the perfect finale to our family. Those two kids are my heart throbbing, tear causing, and biggest joy producing passion to this day! I love being a mom!
Other passions that need not to be left out include target, Starbucks, and red wine. Seriously, wandering down the aisles of Target with my caramel macchiato in hand, a new bottle of cabernet sauvignon carefully placed in that beautiful red cart sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Do I sound dramatic? Probably, but I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it…
Okay, back to the more important stuff. I became a Registered Nurse in 2013 and have worked as a CVICU RN for the past 7 years. I went part time years ago to allow more time for mom life, but two 12 hour night shifts a week still keeps me busy. I feel so lucky to have this job, because it gives me the honor and privilege to care for people during some pretty scary times. The passion for nursing has made me who I am, and I’m so grateful for the job that I get to do.
Now where does photography come into play? My passion for serving people in the world of nursing has evolved into serving people by capturing meaningful moments in their lives. Seem strange? Maybe a little – I’ll have to agree! I have always been infatuated with taking pictures. I have boxes and boxes of pictures I took from my disposable cameras and “point and shoot” digital cameras from back in the day. My husband gifted me a camera DSLR in 2014 and the rest is honestly history. For the past five years I have captured so many incredible families, kids, couples, seniors, and so much more!
Opening Andrea Petkovic Photography is more than just taking pictures for a living. As cheesy as it sounds; I feel like it’s a purpose for my life. I take so much pride in being gifted the opportunity to capture memories that will last a lifetime for you and your family.
